WHAT IS BOIS LOCKER ROOM

Millions of groups are present on Instagram one of them is bois locker room. Total number of members were 27 on this group and some of them were not even 18 years in age.

CONTROVERSY 

Few days before some of the locker room chat screenshots were leaked of this group. In which, members have shared edited images of minor girls. 

After some hours screenshots were circulating on social media and it got viral. Seeing the importance of the case Cyber cell of Delhi police had started investigating and a FIR was filed against anonymous. 

INVESTIGATION

After investigation some facts were revealed, members of bois locker room Instagram group were the students of some renowned schools of south Delhi and few of them were minor.

Many FIR was filed after the Issue came into light and criticism had started on social media.

Delhi commission for women also publicize the case and statement came from Swati Maliwal chairperson of Delhi commission for women, in which she said, “a group was made by some boys on Instagram named Bois Locker Room, in which they are circulating pictures of minor girls and comment on them indecently."

She also stated, "they are also planning how to rape these girls, this is really shocking and intimidating. Delhi commission for women issued a notice to Instagram and Delhi police because we want these boys to be arrested immediately and strict actions are to be taken against them.”

ARRESTS 

Delhi police continued investigation and a notice was issued to Instagram, in which all the details of the group and their members were asked. After these actions Delhi police arrested admin of the group who was an adult.

Investigating the admin, Delhi police reached 24 more boys who were the members of the group, all of them were arrested. 

Out of which 6 were minor and case had to be run in juvenile court but due to Corona emergency all the 6 boys were released and an order issued by the court to run the case after the situation become normal.

TRUTHS REVEALED 

After enquiring the boys truth revealed, the screenshots of chats in which guys were discussing to rape the girl wasn’t the part of this group. Another sources says even few members declined to participate in the group.

Now all this matter picked up fire and it was seen as a conspiracy because two boys plan to sexually assault a girl in the screenshot of the chat. 

Police started to search the two boys. And in the same week news came out the guy named Siddhartha police were searching for is not a boy, she was a minor girl posing to be a boy. 

Yes all this drama started with a girl, and after investigating the girl police recorded the statement. In which she cleared about screenshots of conversation on Snapchat and the purpose of her fake identity. 

She admitted that she created fake account and sent those messages, but it was just to check the reaction of the boy and to know the intentions of him.

After this controversy other groups were also came into light where girls were talking wrongly about boys on chats and on Instagram stories And they named it Girls Locker Room. 

Some people cross their limits in competing with others. Here girl tried to be boy and the strength of her character was lost and she went on wrong track. On social media some other girls raised their voices and asked for strict actions against the girl veiled as boy.

If we see this case as per law, we would be a crime as a person is encouraging another person to commit a crime.

QUESTIONS RAISED 

There are many questions raised from this controversy.

• Are children learning all this in the name of Sex Education? India on one side is getting praises from the world and on the other side our educated society is reflecting completely opposite image.

• Can’t we stop such things on Instagram or on Facebook by tracing some keywords or some sentences?

• Is Government unable to ban the porn? Because a report says traffic on porn sites hiked by 95% in lockdown. 

In coming few months a totally new opportunities are coming to India, how government is going to deal with it, if it's not able to deal with such minor issues.
